Linus is Four

Today my baby boy turned four.  I know I will say this every year, but it has gone so quickly.  I can easily recall his birth, although it may be in part to it being a somewhat traumatizing experience.
Even at birth, Linus was alert and full of energy.
Linus was so excited to turn four.  This morning the first order of business was getting to eat breakfast downstairs.  A very big deal.
I manage to snap of few shots of the birthday boy before I shipped him off to preschool for the morning.

of course Eileen insisted on posing too
"Cupcakes!?!"
Linus was pretty excited for school.  He was bringing cupcakes. He knew that at preschool, the birthday child gets to be line leader, wear a crown, and all the kids make them a birthday book.  When he came home, there was an even bigger surprise.  Aunt Sally came over to have a special date with him for the afternoon!

While Eileen and Mama napped, Linus and Aunt Sally went out to lunch at the Rainforest Cafe.  Linus was pretty impressed by all the animatronic animals.  The "Volcano" dessert blew his mind.  He came home with large plastic snakes and more animal rescue toys.

Later Linus enjoyed a birthday dinner of mac n cheese balls and peas (his request).  I tried to fulfill his request of a spooky birthday with lots of spiders.  The house is already decked out pretty good for Halloween.

Linus loves having a birthday.

Linus loved all his presents, each time screaming, "Just what I always wanted!!"  Over the weekend, relatives gave him Star Wars legos and other legos.  Dave and I added another large bucket of legos, plus Spiderman pajamas, and a stuffed baby jaguar (Go Diego Go is a huge inspiration to Linus).  Linus ended his day, like he does all days now, playing legos with Daddy.  It was a good birthday and I know he'll sleep well tonight.

LINUS AT FOUR

Has non-stop energy and is bursting with ideas.  Lacks impulse control.

Loves:  reptiles, Legos, anything science related, fossils, mummies, excavation, reading books, spooky things, soccer, and Starbucks.

Dislikes: time-outs, Eileen touching his stuff, and not getting his own way.

When he grows up, Linus wants to be a scientist of everything, but work as an animal rescuer on an animal rescue boat, rescuing baby sea otters.
