It was a big day this weekend in the life of Robin. We finally introduced him to solids. The poor guy kept being forced to just sit at the table and watch us eat (we are rude that way). The experts say one of the signs to look for to know if a baby is ready for solids is if they appear interested. Interested does not begin to describe Robin's desire.
We kept it simple. A little Gerber baby oatmeal mixed with warmed breastmilk.

| "Ho hum. Breakfast. Lets get this over with. I will sit here and watch you eat." |
 |
| "Hmm. Well this is new...." |
 |
| "And delicious!" |
Robin was so excited that he signed "more." This is especially impressive since we had never showed him the sign before. He was practically leaping out of the bumbo to get more cereal.

| O.M.G. Heaven!! |
Maybe because he is our third, we are a little less rigid with introducing new foods. Robin had to the opportunity to try a little Mexican. He did not like the guacamole, but thought the rice was excellent. I offered him the teeniest bite of ice cream today and he burst into tears. They were not tears of joy. I'm almost positive he will grow to appreciate ice cream.
